This week has seen the Explosives Search Dog division of the BTP on site every day as part of ongoing training. It has been very interesting seeing how the dogs and handlers work.
This one, seen wearing his Kevlar boots, thinks he has found something in the drasin.
We are now being used on a regular basis by several Police departments.
Over the last few months work has started on our Heritage Lottery Funded project.
The new entrance road layout has been started, it couldn't progress until UK Power had removed the overhead power lines - these are now resited underground.
Once the road is done construction can start on the new reception building.
The area for the Cubitt Skills Centre is being cleared and the Miniature Railway has been dismantled to make way for all the work but will be re-instated in a new layout.
Work on the new museum building, the Brewster Centre , has also started.
This week that should see several engine movements - starting with the arrival of a certain little blue engine Wednesday morning. A class 08 then left us
Thomas will be running on 10th, 11th, 17th & 18th June
We started our 2018 season with a Diesel Gala, the first for a while.
Services during the day were provided by our two class 03s - D2041 and D2184, 121 Bubble Car and the 141 Pacer - the first time this has worked for some time.
