Days Out With Thomas


Late September saw two more weekends of fun with Thomas and his friends including Daisy, Trevor, Percy and a miniature Toby.

Sir Topham Hatt was on hand to make they all behaved - which they did.

KENNETT SIGNAL BOX ARRIVES

On the 18th December we had a Special Delivery from Santa in the shape of Kennett signal box. We were given four days notice to arrange transport and a crane to lift the box at the CVR - quite a feat in the run up to Christmas. All went well though and the box arrived right in the middle of our busiest Santa day! It it now on the sturgeon, where it will remain until a base is ready for it at Drawell.

Development News

The re-development of the site is under way. The new Brewster Centre now has a roof and looks quite impressive.  We have re-opened part of the original museum to give visitors an insight into the history of the CVR. The Miniature Railway has re-opened a section of track, this will eventually be a much longer line. Work on the new roadway and entrance is also taking place

Building Update

Over the last few months work has started on our Heritage Lottery Funded project. The new entrance road layout has been started, it couldn't progress until UK Power had removed the overhead power lines - these are now resited underground. Once the road is done construction can start on the new reception building. The area for the Cubitt Skills Centre is being cleared and the  Miniature Railway has been dismantled to make way for all the work but  will be re-instated in a new layout.   Work on the new museum building, the Brewster Centre , has also started.
